One hundred years ago, Albert Einstein changed the world with four papers that led directly to the development of atomic weapons, space travel, satellite technology and a profound understanding of the universe.
But, wracked with guilt over the real – world applications of his science – specifically, how the use of atomic weapons clashed with his religious beliefs – Einstein spent the last half of his life desperately trying to disprove the implications of so much of his work.
Learn how the greatest scientist of the 20th century would spend his final years enduring appalling professional humiliation. While most of the world hailed him as a genius, he slowly became a marginal figure within the scientific community – revered, but ignored. And it was all because he could not accept the fact that his life’s work stood at odds with his personal beliefs.

Terrific video. All the information in it is correct. However, your written statement above, that Einstein’s papers led directly to “atomic weapons, space travel, satellite technology and a profound understanding of the universe,” is only partially true. Space travel and satellite technology are simply the result of Sir Isaac Newton’s Laws of Motion and did not come from Einstein’s theories. The space travel we practice it today, to the moon and planets, is just an application of Newton’s laws. When we someday, if ever, go to the stars, then we will need his Theory of Relativity.
if time speed relationship is not included and acounted for in the planning of the timing of the manuering firing of engines, would this nothave efect on when you try to aimfor a distant point in space you can no see? Such as the time to slow enough to inter to and park in orbit. There is no parking lines to judge by, nothing to show you the was a dirreance beteen earth time calulations relitive to the speeds you are travling. Or do you just poo poo the time dialation?
informative and well presented.
