FOR THE NEXT GENERATION from Dominoes Falling Productions, is a feature length documentary using a collaboration of various material. It is a sequel to OUR SYSTEM OUR STRUCTURE OUR ILLUSION. The film aims to inspire positive change in a time that is very difficult for many across the planet, and to spread awareness to some serious challenges that lie ahead. Question everything, even this…

love this film, loved the last one great stuff DFP! X
The best film of this century. My gratitude for what you have presented here is beyond measure. Namaste’
FOR THE NEXT GENERATION (2011): 100% male gaze – a hatchet and re-patch job on various YouTube videos – do us a favour and limit your 15 minutes ‘in the limelight’ to 15 minutes and don’t be so delusional as to produce something so self-obsessed and twisted that demands 2:45:57 of other people’s time. Pure Plagiarism. Why should the next generation listen to you? Why should anyone?
Wow.
Plagiarism is when you take other peoples stuff and claim it as your own. What was done here was merely a collection of info from various stated sources. Your assertions that this piece is “self-obsessed and twisted” ….has no meaning, merit, nor does it make an iota of freaking sense… considering this movie was not about any one “self” or personal.
Seriously. wtf are you talking about?
Anyways… IMO ….Great collection of info. To the creators of any of this. I salute you. Keep fighting the good fight. There is a better way. I don’t know what it looks like. But it doesn’t look like the world we are living in today.
Does the content bother you somehow? Are you just a little scared that reality is going to get up and bight you? That it may be true and take you away from the happy motoring, easy loan, consumerist lifestyle?
to bad people like you are not aware yet…really sad ,you either didn’t get it or where searching for flaws to feel good,u decide
Dude you’ve totally missed the point =)
This was a great piece! Thanks for putting it together.
Awesome work!!! Plagiarism is the stealing of others work without giving them credit for it. That is not the case here. Books with quotes giving the original author are NOT plagiarism.
the venus project parts i listened to made me think that too much of the so-called revolutionary spirit is hinging in this case with the hopes as always that technology will save us in the design of perfect environmental bases, but really it is not technology that has the great power of food supply, for the agents of nature are unknown to most men and without their satisfaction none of our plans shall fructify. Such agents are deputed by the Supreme Being who requires sacrifice of men. That sacrifice is spoken of in the most ancient Vedic books of knowledge. Man needs to break away from dependence on technology and machine to see the actual power of nature and those that control the forces of nature. Then once dedicated towards the purpose of life man can feel secure in righteousness and simplicity without any reliance on a technology which has nothing to do with the character of men. With no character and inner spirit all the plans of men will fail just like our present condition which is likened to an ant colony busying itself on a log which is burning at both ends.
Are you serious? You actually believe that if we kill a bunch of men, flowers are gonna pop? lol
Sounds like you’ve watched one too many Sci-Fi movies like Matrix and iRobot. “the agents of nature are unknown to most men and without their satisfaction none of our plans shall fructify” You should check out http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hydroponics and http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Aeroponics
I really hope you are kidding and I’m part of some joke, otherwise I really feel that humanity’s future is hopeless.
Btw: great movie!!
You sir are crazy.
Wonderful, really enjoyed this.
I like how this video included the over scientifically debunked part of Zeitgeist: Addendum when they talk about renewable energies.
Solar power only can work half of the time. In the equator, half of the 24 hours the sun is only visible on the other side of the planet. In the poles there is virtually no sun at all for 3 months. You cannot rely on solar solely.
Wind power is extremely intermittent. Electric utilities have devised good wind prediction models that are contemplated in their generation dispatches. But even the best models around can’t predict wind disappearing from one minute to another. Again without some backup and reliable generation system such as a nuclear power, you can’t rely only on wind power.
Tidal energy is very difficult to harvest. It is not simply put some propellers on the sea floor and hope they spin when water moves. That’s just baloney! First the blades have to resist salt erosion. Second the transmission of energy underwater over long distances is very inefficient and expensive. Even without a money paradigm, expensive means more resources you have to waste to harvest it, so your net energy is diminished.
Wave energy suffers from the same problem as tidal and wind. Waves are very correlated with wind and air flows, so it is expected that when there is not enough wind, waves won’t be as powerful as we want.
At last, geothermal. First of all we don’t know the geological impacts of the widespread usage of geothermal energy, and second Peter Joseph stated that a total of 2000 ZJ of energy could be easily tapped and that could power the world for 4000 years. Again that’s baloney! First of all electricity produced from geothermal energy is produced the same way as in coal, gas and nuclear power plants. You have superheated steam, you expand it in a turbine, the turbine’s shaft is connected to a electric synchronous generator and you connect it to the power grid. This process undergoes many energy losses, governed by the 2nd Law of Thermodynamics, that was very well explained in this vid. Every energy transfer undergoes an energy loss. In coal/nuclear/gas power plants you can NEVER EVER have efficiencies over 45% at best cases. This means that from your superheated steam that you expand in a turbine, only around 40% of its energy is transformed into electricity, therefore usable power. So this destroys PJ’s math quite a bit…
Conclusion: Since we can’t rely on renewable energy sources ALONE, but we definitely can use them while they hold, we need other reliable energy source. And that ought to be nuclear, since we cannot afford more CO2 pumped into the air.
This is REALITY! Not the UTOPIA the Venus Project and Zeitgeist, wanna be scientists advocate.
Thank you for your time.
Useful stuff, thanks!
You’re probably right, but all you’ve just said rely on the fact that we don’t know how to store vast amounts of energy (which is required when you deal with wind/solar and geothermal energy). So, imagine this: we focus all of our scientific research towards solving this issue and we find a sustainable solution. Then, nothing of what you’ve stated above would have any validity.
I’d like to point out one calculation I’ve done the yesterday:
We currently have 67% of the electricity we produce coming from coal or natural gas (combined cycle power plants). If we want to stop right now the CO2 emissions from electricity production, it would require a complete replace of these sources of energy with nuclear and renewable.
1) Renewable is something like 18% and nuclear 14%, and both combined would have to triple to satisfy the current energy demand. Well it turns out that there have been many studies on how the power network works with more than 30% of its generation coming from renewable and some conclusions point out that it would be very unstable and blackout risky if we aim at 50% energy coming from intermittent sources. So if we cap the renewable part of the mix at 30%, we would need 70% of nuclear, hydro and biomass. We have already 14% of hydro (almost 80% of the renewable part), and we are running out of sites to build big dams without further impacting some ecosystems. For example fish don’t like we trapping their upstream path of a river. So lets assume hydro won’t increase much, meaning we need to increase the 20% coming from renewable sources fourfold! It means we have to quadruple the amount of wind turbines, solar panels, everything!!!
2) Nuclear will have to be the other 70%. Currently we have 18% coming from nuclear, it means we need to also almost quadruple the amount of nuclear power plants we have today!
3) If we do want to bury fossil fuels and do not burn them again for the rest of our lifetime on earth, all vehicles that emit CO2 will have to turn electric. And where does that energy comes from?? Electricity! I read somewhere that if 30% of the cars circulating in the world would be replaced by electric vehicles, then the electricity consumption would skyrocket to 2x the current amount.
This means we would have to increase by 13 the amount of nuclear power and renewable… This without energy storage system, that again always have to account losses. Pumping water back to a dam has efficiency of no more than 30%. Batteries have low efficiency too, and we cannot use them for LARGE amounts of energy, no no no! Compressed air has also efficiency problems; hydrogen needs a whole new infrastructure to transport and store it; that if we decided to build it we have to consider their carbon footprints also… Metanol has a net energy ratio of 1 to 1.3, but its unfeasible to produce because the earth is already saturated with crop land as it is, to feed us and feed the animals we eat…
Sorry but this doc is not working 100% is the audio
This is a great video, thank you very much for it. One thing though … watching it on vimeo is a hell since you have to start watching it from the begining everytime it stops due to conection issue or just not enough time to see it in one go. Just saying this because you are trying to vehiculate a very important message here, it´s such a shame to risk loosing impact by choosing the wrong platform. I´m on my 4th time trying to view it … 10 minutes left but have to wait for it to download all over again …
Nevertheless, great work, I´m totaly with you on that, very worried too, but hopefull to see that people like you are showing what needs to, count on me to talk about it
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Lsm_OFuZAkk its available on youtube
Nice work, enjoyed every second. Very inspirational.
