Our Technical Reality is a documentary that is more in tune with showcasing the science and technology standpoint. Douglas Mallette is passionate about the venus project and his technical background allows him to bring more data, facts and science to the table, which in combination with his ability to do public speaking allows him to address and spread the vision of the Venus Project to many people.
With his technical background, he can help bring others to the point where they see this new direction as possible, real and vital. The visions of the Venus Project would not be possible were it not for the advances in technology that are directly or indirectly attributable to space exploration, manned or robotic.
It is the challenges of space that afford us the opportunity to think outside the box or more specifically, off the Earth. Many of the challenges of space simply cannot be duplicated on Earth, and it is those challenges that drive innovation, like advanced recycling and reusability technologies, far more than any ludicrous notion that profit and money are the motivators.

This is a very good documentary showing all the different technologies that are available today. It is very informative but it lack a bit of commentary during the documentary.
I agree. Excellent review of current technology but the video itself could have been a lot better.
Well, when I made this my purpose was not to make a formal documentary. I just wanted to piece together some clips of the technologies that are readily available today. It kind of took on a life of its own. I have though about redoing it, more professionally, but I always get too busy to take it on again. Oh well, it’s the info that matters. I’m not looking to get any Oscars for it.
