Three decades ago, pretty much everybody thought we had f***ed up the earth with careless and selfish fossil fuel emissions. We were heading into an Ice Age. Today, the same fossil fuel emissions are causing global warming. Hey, no worries. You may be a carbon sinner, but now you can buy yourself a clean, green conscience for cash. It’s a new craze based on eco-guilt, and it’s….b*llsh*t!
Every day, TV, newspapers, and the Internet bombard us with a message that we’re destroying the earth. Ice caps are melting, rivers are dying, polar bears are drowning, and trees are doing something. We f***ed up the environment beyond repair, and now we must pay the piper. It’s no wonder so many people are suffering from green guilt.

I felt this film was hostile and flawed so I had to write down some arguments and critique concerning it. I hope it will clear some things for the viewer.
Yes, it is true that a new ice age is coming. Ice ages are caused because of the astronomical cycles of the earth. This coming ice age is calculated to start after about 2000 to 5000 years from now so I would say our primary concerns is our climate in the next 50 to 500 years.
When we want to see changes in the climate we want to look at the long term trends. Teperatures vary each year and the sun is of course a huge part of this. And as we can see also in the chart shown in this film the long term trend of climate change is showing increasing temperatures. This is why we must take the matter seriously.
We should also apply the caution principle used in science. This means that if there is strong evidence that our action is causing something harmful, we should avoid doing so. CO2, CH4 and other greenhouse gasses have been shown the warming effect in laboratory testing so we clearly have quite clear evidence this is causing a problem.
And yes it is true there is a lot of money being made on climate change. It has been made into a business as everything else in a capitalist system. This is not efficient and is doing nothing but generating more income for businessmen and for private entrepreneurs. The center of attention on climate change should not in any means be about business but solving the problem first hand!
Natural CO2 emissions are circulating in a closed system. This means CO2 generated from the oceans and soil are used by plants and other living beings for their energy production. Thus the free CO2 is put back to the oceans and soil where they came from. What we should be worried about are the emissions outside this cycle because this is what is left unused in the atmosphere causing the temperature to rise. My speculation is the problem would probably be solved by increasing plantlife in the planet. This however is not happening because the emissions produced are growing in a very fast rate and we the people are cutting down our forests globally.
Oh and by the way, it seemed like a river rock to me. Rocks with a round shape get their form in a watery and a dynamic environment such as a river.
yes you are correct—this was a moronic video penn and teller did—i didnt realize they were such idiots.anyone with common sense can see man has made a huge impact on this planet and there is no need for us to continue ruining it irregardless if there is or there isnt global warming.
We need to conserve and use wisly –all of us
penn and teller —i think the wrong guy is doin the talking—id
