This is the breath taking story of Daniel Tammet. A twenty-something with extraordinary mental abilities, Daniel is one of the world’s few savants. He can do calculations to 100 decimal places in his head, and learn a language in a week.
He also meets the world’s most famous savant, the man who inspired Dustin Hoffman’s character in the Oscar winning film ‘Rain Man’
This documentary follows Daniel as he travels to America to meet the scientists who are convinced he may hold the key to unlocking similar abilities in everyone.

pretty cool =]
I’ve always felt we as humans have a true potential, that has been suppressed in some way. As described in this documentary (and others), all the flashing lights, noises, and external forces have distracted us and “dumbed us down” from reaching our true potential. With all the chemicals everywhere, environmental toxins, advertisements, flashing lights, noises, and other distractions, we as a species have been “retarded” (Read: slowing down/hindrance of our abilities. Not mentally disabled).
I believe there must be a way for us as a species to harness our true potential, but it would take a great deal of … something. There must be a way to “unlock our Chi”, and be the advanced species we truly are. We’re far too easily impressed lately. There must be powers beyond our current abilities/beliefs.
